The tale of Hansel and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel in German) is a, well, German fairytale by the brothers Grimm. One of history's most well known pieces of German folklore, it has an unending amount of different versions. The original story was about two children, abandoned by their parents, who find a life-sized gingerbread house in the forest and subsequently have to live with its sole inhabitor, the witch. But the witch grows more hostile towards the children, encages the boy and tries to eat him. Will she succeed? Find out.
